Elegant and unique hand painted tulip earrings. The tulip is thought of to be a native flower of Holland when actually it was brought to Holland from Turkey in the 16th century. During the time period 1718-1730, the tulip became a symbol of 'peace' and 'serenity' within the Turkish culture. Today, the tulip has been encompassed into the daily lives of the Turkish culture and can be found in textile embroidery, art and jewelry. Made by artisans following ancient arts of hand painting on ceramics and silver smithing. Each pair of earrings is truly unique and none will be alike.
